New city, new job
At the beginning of Eric's last year of college he began interviewing for jobs for when he graduated May 2012. He was in the business school at UT and majored in marketing (his dream job would be doing marketing for a major sport brand) but he was interviewing for anyone in the business field that would give him an interview. He had a few good interviews and was chosen for a second round interview with Macy's (the department store). They flew him to one of their main offices in Los Angels, CA. for a weekend. He thought it went pretty well and was eager to hear the response. A few weeks after thanksgiving he revived an offer in the mail for a full time salary paying job when he graduated. Of course this wasn't his dream job and he never imagined he would be working in retail but it was a very good opportunity that was hard to pass up. He accepted the job and they offered him Dallas or Houston. We chose Houston (Pearland), we were familiar with the city and it was def closer to our family. He started the monday we got back from our honeymoon in June. He is in a management training program for a couple months and then will be a manager over a certain department, after that he can be the market manager for the store and/or go on to be on the district team. The company offers a lot of options, and he really enjoys working for them. I am so proud and wish I had the knowledge and dedication he has.
